World-renowned British pavement artist, Julian Beever, brought to life a signature Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in front of Xujiahui Grand Gateway, a stylish “must go” destination for shoppers in Shanghai, in March. Popularly known as the ‘Pavement Picasso’, Beever was engaged by the global hotel brand as part of its “Stay Hilton, Go Everywhere” campaign, to highlight its extensive portfolio of more than 540 properties in 76 countries.

Using the floor as his canvas, Beever created a large chalk mural of a spectacular Hilton property in his signature, threedimensional style, an illusion that distorts the perception of space and depth when viewed from a specific vantage point.

Andrew Flack, vice president, global brand marketing, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, said, “By expressing the brand in such an innovative and refreshing way, we are showcasing our global offerings and capturing the imagination of today’s savvy travellers.”

Over four days, Xujiahui Grand Gateway shoppers were able to witness the artist in action and get a vivid impression of the prestigious Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort and Spa, one of more than 60 properties within the Hilton Resorts portfolio. The finished artwork was retained for public viewing for a further two days.
